Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication is a 3-year course which is at the under-graduate level and done in full-time mode divided into 6-semesters lasting a period of 6-months. It is one of the mass communication courses offered in India. The BSc in Visual Communication course focuses on the visual as well as written aspects of public communication and media. The course requires students to study the production as well as the post-production processes followed by film and media outlets and trains them on the use of various image and video editing software, animation software as well as on the development of writing and other communication skills.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • The candidate must have completed the Class 12 examination or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
  • The candidate should have scored a minimum of 40 per cent in the qualifying examination.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

  • Graphic Artist

Graphic Artists create visual concepts by hand or by using different computer software to inform or captivate consumers. They are also responsible for the overall layout and production design of brochures, ad campaigns, magazines, corporate reports, etc.

  • Photographer

Photographers are artists with a camera. They are hired in varied fields to take pictures of people, places, food, landscapes, etc. They generally use other technical products and editing tools to edit the photographs.

  • Animator

Animators create and produce images that come to life on screen in animated TV series or movies, feature films, pop videos, computer games, websites, and other such media.

  • Cartoonist

Cartoonists are hired to draw cartoons for various mediums such as television, newspapers, magazines, comics, or animated productions.
